Q01. Do I need a driving license, insurance or registration?
A01. With all our electric bicycles displayed in our website, you do NOT need a driver's license, insurance nor registration. According to Federal law, electric bikes that have pedals and that have a motor under 500 watts are classified as bicycles. According to provincial regulations, one does require the use of helmet and riders should be at least 16 years old.
Q02. How can I determine if the Electric kit will fit on my bicycle?
A02.If your bicycle wheels are any of the following standard wheel sizes: 20", 24", 26", or 700C, the kit should fit! However, make sure that your bicycle has a minimum of at least 3" distance between the front forks. Older motors require 3 1/4" distance.
Q03. Do I need to pedal when riding an electric bicycle?
A03. No, but if you pedal you prolong your battery range. The motor on our bikes is throttle controlled, allowing you to decide how much power you desire. The faster you go (without pedaling), the faster you will deplete your batteries, lowering their range.
A04.Currently, there are 3 main types of batteries used in electric bicycles:
Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) - Lithium Ion batteries are the highest quality batteries available in today's market. Although they have the longest life, they cost the most, they have the lowest weight and the best battery range per charge.
Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) - NiMH batteries are a mid-range battery type. They are light-weight, have an extended life span and provide great range compared to the SLA batteries.
Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) - Although they're the cheapest form of battery technology, they have the shortest life, the lowest range and are extremely heavy when compared to other battery types.
The batteries that our bikes come with are either lithium ion or SLAs.
Q05. If I have problems with the installation of an electric bicycle that I purchase from your website, and I don't live in your city, what kind of help can I get?
A05. If you do not have any mechanical knowledge on bicycles, and you wish to avoid any problems with the installation, it would be best to purchase bicycles that come with an installation DVD (for electric kits for bicycles) or an assembly DVD (factory pre-assembled electric bicycles like eRyder 26, eRyder cruiser, etc).
Q06. How far do your electric bicycles go?
A06. All electric bicycles on the average will go about 30-40 kilometers, with aluminum frame, 26" thin wheels and tires, 150 lb. rider, on a flat terrain, and without any stoping.If you pedal you get an even higher range.
Q07. How fast will my bike go with the Electric Kit installed?
A07. On a 26" wheel, your bike will reach a top speed of 32 km/h and more if you are pedaling at full force.
Q08. How long does it take to charge my batteries?
A08.Depending upon the degree of discharge. For a fully discharged battery allow 4-6 hours of charging time.
Q09. Which batteries have a longer life, SLAs or lithium ion?
A09. Lithium ion batteries can be charged, say, 700 times and SLAs can be charged 400 times. Another words lithium batteries can last almost twice as long as SLAs (theoretically speaking).

"So far it looks like the bike can go for 3.5 hours of consistent non-peddle power. I drove it up and down hill, and all over the city. Not sure of KM distance but definitely 3.5 hours of power before it died. Even when it died, if you turn off the motor and peddle for a while (3 or 4 blocks), then turn the motor back on, you have a little bit of juice in it to get you home."
